1560 Geneva Bible

Writing historical fiction can be a mind melt. While the story of John Clarke is fictional, it is built around historical record. I tend to spend more time than I should to double and triple check for historical accuracy.

Discerning information from the 1600’s about John Clarke is difficult at best and bonus, many people have the same name. First and last. Yep!

And, over the years I had to educate myself on how John writes and speaks to determine if stories or documents I discover are in fact his.

After many long nights, I began to feel overwhelmed. I placed my 1560 Geneva Bible underneath my writings. Total instant calm. Special note - John's family bible was the Geneva from 1560.
